June - A Fundraiser for Ukraine

Cabell Gallery of Virginia Art conducts fund raiser for Ukraine, featuring Ukrainian artist Tanya Broderick, and benefiting “Hosting Ukrainian Families” in Rockbridge County.

(Lexington, VA) - Cabell Gallery will be featuring Ukrainian artist, Tanya Broderick on this coming “First Friday” June 2nd. All proceeds from the sale of Mrs. Broderick's work will benefit Ukrainian relief. The gallery’s share of each painting sold will be donated to “Hosting Ukrainian Families,” a local non-profit that sponsors the temporary resettlement of families from the Ukraine to Lexington and Rockbridge County. The artist’s proceeds will be donated directly to families in need on the front line in Ukraine.

The collection of oil paintings done by Mrs. Broderick will be available for purchase at Cabell Gallery starting on June 2nd and running through June 30th as well as on cabellgallery.com. The “First Friday” Art Walk takes place on the First Friday of each month in Downtown Lexington. The art galleries and other stores stay open from 5pm-7pm, each featuring an artist or event. There are drinks and light snacks provided. 

On June 2nd from 5pm-7pm, Tanya Broderick will be at Cabell Gallery for the opening of her solo show featuring oil paintings of landscapes, nature, animals and all things beautiful. There will be many paintings specifically of historic Lexington. 

Tanya Broderick was born in Russia and moved to Ukraine where she earned her master's degree in geophysical engineering. She worked in Kiev as a fashion designer for several years. After meeting her husband, John, Tanya and her daughter, Masha, moved to Charlottesville, Virginia. 

Hosting Ukrainian Families is a humanitarian outreach effort organized by citizens of Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County to pave the way for sponsoring the temporary resettlement of families from Ukraine who qualify for legal entry to the United States. This non-profit organization uses the money and efforts of donors to help feed and house Ukrainian families here locally. The goal is to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency as full members of our community.
