Jinx Constine has been creating art for as long as she can remember.  Born in New York, her family moved to Richmond, Seattle and Chicago before returning to Virginia in the 1970’s.   Her father, an advertising executive and watercolorist, and her grandmother, a decorative painter, introduced Jinx to the world of painting.  She studied art history, graduating from the University of Virginia.  After graduation, she took a different road as an investment professional.  During this time, art was relegated to the back burner, although never far away.  Classes taken at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and workshops with local Virginia artists such as Nancy Witt, John Morgan, Diane Detamore, Shelly Bechtel Shepherd, kept her artistic education alive.  Years later, Jinx realized that art needed to be a bigger part of her life and actively sought further education through workshops/classes with Laura Loe, Jane Joyner, Henry Issacs, David Tanner, Lori Putnam, John Poon, Joe Gyursak, and Robin Caspari.

Jinx is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is affiliated with Oil Painters of America and Virginia Plein Air Painters.  Jinx will be our featured artist during March and has been affiliated with Cabell Gallery since 2016.

Opening reception Friday 3/01 from 5:00-7:00pm. Meet the artist!
